Ian Grove is our resident Osteopath and he will be offering a clinic at the Spa every Wednesday morning for Spa members.

Ian is a registered osteopath and a postgraduate tutor in osteopathic medicine.

In case you're wondering what osteopaths do, they are fully regulated professionals who practice a hands-on, drug-free system of healthcare that works with your body's structures - for example, the bones, joints, muscles, tendons, ligaments and nerves - and the relationships between those structures to remove barriers to your natural healing processes, allow the body to rediscover natural, healthy function, and get you back to being fully yourself.

45 minute follow up appointments £65 each

Your first full consultation aims to understand not only your present symptoms or injuries, but also the complete picture of factors that may be causing or maintaining those problems. We will seek to understand how and why a particular problem has presented as it does in order to address the root causes and help restore your normal, healthy function. The hope of this approach is not only to relieve your symptoms, but to be able to prevent them recurring in the future.

The full consultation typically lasts between an hour/hour and a half, depending on the complexity of the problem or problems you would like help with and will always include a discussion of your medical history and a set of appropriate  physical examinations before reaching a diagnosis and proposing a treatment approach. All is done with your consent and if you are happy to proceed, your first full treatment is included within this appointment.

It is important to reassure you that osteopaths are fully trained in both diagnosis and referral - if we believe, having reached a diagnosis, that osteopathy would not be likely to improve your condition, then we will tell you so. If further investigation is needed by other suitably qualified professionals, then we are able to make referrals and suggest alternative courses of action to osteopathic treatment as required.
