Monthly Walking & History Tours
7 Oct 2026
We are excited to offer you an informative 1 hour tour of our magnificent 65 acres where you will discover the numerous unique plantings, the Italian garden, rare c1900 Pulham Stone monuments, the Danesfield Iron Age Hillfort and breath-taking views of the River Thames, offering the perfect backdrop for photos and peaceful reflection.
The tour will be followed by a 45 minute talk about the hotel's history as RAF Medmenham. The talk and tour will be presented by Head Gardener, Dave Brown.
Timing: 13:30 – 15:00
£10.00 per person (children under 12 years complimentary). Reservations are essential due to high demand. Pre-payment is required, non-refundable and non-transferable.
Tours are limited to 30 people.
Enhance your experience with a delightful cream tea for just £10 per person, this offer is available exclusively to those attending our Walking & History Tours.

Appropriate outdoor footwear is required and please note that there is no wheelchair access around the grounds due to steps, tunnels and inclines.

We are again opening our doors to families and local residents of Marlow, Henley and surrounding villages for our annual Firework Night celebration.
Join us for a spectacular evening of fireworks, hot snacks and a bar.

5:30pm - Gates open
7pm - Fireworks display – watch the display from the terrace and see the sky illuminate with glorious colours.
Hot snacks and drinks will be available for purchase.

Hosted by our favourite local florists, the fabulous Lucie & Zoë of Foxglove Studio Marlow, this luxury wreath-making workshop promises to be a festive experience to remember.
Set in the elegant surroundings of Danesfield House, you’ll be guided step-by-step in creating your own stunning wreath, using an array of beautiful, locally grown seasonal foliage, berries, and natural decorations. Whether you're a budding creative or simply love all things festive, this is the perfect way to add a personal, stylish touch to your holiday decor.

Festive Afternoon Tea is served in The Orangery daily from 1-4pm.
Open for residents and non-residents.
We will do our best to accommodate your seating request.
Reservations are on a first come first basis.
Available every day throughout December excluding 24th, 25th and 26th December.

Wander through the Grand Hall and Versailles Suite, where a curated selection of quirky and traditional stalls will be showcasing unique handmade gifts, charming stocking fillers, beautiful ornaments, artisan crafts, jewellery, gourmet treats and so much more.
