18th March 2020
Dear all,
In light of the ongoing COVID-19 (Coronavirus) outbreak I would first and foremost like to reassure you that the health and safety of our guests and employees is our highest priority. In line with guidance from the Government and Public Health England we have introduced a range of additional measures to minimise the risk of infection and transmission of the virus. Until we are advised to do otherwise it is our intention to continue operation.
At this time there have been no reported cases of COVID-19 amongst our staff or guests and we have put in place the following measures to minimise the risk:
- First and foremost we would ask any guests that are due to visit us to postpone your visit if you are feeling unwell.
- We have put in place a significantly enhanced cleaning schedule particularly in public areas of the hotel and spa, focusing specifically on touch points. We have taken the decision to use stronger cleaning chemicals than we ordinarily use for the duration of the outbreak.
- Upon arrival in the hotel our team will make guests aware of the measures in place and the hygiene facilities available to ensure that we are able to continuously maintain hygiene recommendations based on the most current advice.
- As a minimum all members of our team have committed to washing their hands every two hours.
- In order to ensure greater distancing between individuals we have taken the decision that we will only let half of our available bedrooms on a given night.
- We have increased the space between tables in our restaurants and public areas allowing a maximum of 48 guest for breakfast, lunch, afternoon tea and dinner.
- While endeavouring to deliver the high standard of service and hospitality that we pride ourselves on, our team will as far as possible maintain the recommended 2 metre distancing between each other and guests. A friendly smile may take the place of a welcoming handshake.
We have amended our cancellation policy where bookings have been made with the hotel directly to ensure that if a guest begins to feel unwell within the 48 hour cancellation policy, we will allow the stay to be postponed to a later date within 6 months.
Finally we are continuously monitoring the situation and advice issued which we will implement accordingly.
I would like to thank you for your ongoing support during this challenging period and I hope to have the opportunity to welcome you personally to Danesfield House Hotel & Spa soon.
All the best,
Alex Robertson
General Manager
